Marcel Desjarlais

Marcel C. Desjarlais (Osawaw Kihew) is a Nehiyaw and Metis writer, entrepreneur, and community advocate from northern Alberta. He is the creator of the “AJ and Asiniy Adventure Series,” children’s books inspired by his grandsons and rooted in the humour, strength, and everyday life of Indigenous families on the Prairies. Marcel is also the President and CEO of FNMI Group Care, an Indigenous-owned agency that supports children and youth through culturally grounded, community-led care. His work focuses on strengthening Indigenous identity, building safe spaces for young people, and uplifting stories that reflect real Indigenous experiences. He lives in Alberta and continues to develop new projects centered on youth, family, and Nation-building.
