A group of activists were arrested Monday after seizing and shutting down a drilling barge doing preparatory work for the Kinder Morgan pipeline. They claim Justin Trudeau is breaking a key election promise by allowing NEB hearings on the pipeline to resume unchanged this week.

The NEB process for Kinder Morgan's proposed Trans Mountain tar sands pipeline expansion begins hearings today in Burnaby, B.C. The Province of B.C. recently declared opposition to the proposal, joining Vancouver and other municipal governments in the region. The City of Burnaby, earlier this month, called on the federal government to halt the NEB hearings until promised changes are made.
