Yavar Hameed is a lawyer, whose practice focuses on the protection and advocacy of human rights and civil liberties. He teaches a course in Carleton University's Department of Law entitled "State, Security and Dissent," which explores the limits imposed upon civil resistance by the state's construction of security in times of peace and war.
