Kaitlyn Smith (they/them) is a multi-media journalist and essayist in Toronto with a background working for legacy news and non-profits throughout the city. They are interested in long-form, investigative journalism that highlights the visibility of BIPOC communities. Kaitlyn has been an advocate for diversity in the newsrooms since 2015. Their praxis focuses on deconstructing discriminatory language in the industry's reporting, data analysis and graphics productions of diverse populations in Canada.
