Julien Defourny

Julien Defourny is a Belgian explorer, photographer, and documentary filmmaker committed to sharing the voices of people and ecosystems often overlooked. He is the creator of Sur les Voix des Amériques (“On the Voices of the Americas”), a film born from a multi-year journey by bicycle and canoe from Patagonia to Canada.

Through his lens, Julien highlights the realities of Indigenous communities, especially in the Amazon, using photography and film to bear witness with humility and respect.

Beyond storytelling, he is also involved in concrete actions, including the co-creation of an educational project with the Shuar people in Ecuador. His work invites us to listen more deeply, protect what connects us to the Earth, and care for the living world with greater awareness.
