Early this year saw the release of the first ever guidelines to help psychologists work with men and boys, a landmark study from the American Psychological Association suggesting that aspects of “traditional masculinity” can be psychologically harmful.
In this conversation, Toronto-based independent journalist Anna Bianca Roach joins host Andre Goulet to explore why it’s import to encourage pro-social aspects of masculinity, the role that clinicians need to play in working to address the needs of men and boys and whether the corporate cronyism of Justin Trudeau’s SNC-Lavelin scandal and Old Boys Club politics is evidence of a kind of toxic masculinity at work in Ottawa.
